As a chef, my daily routine is to check all my preparations in the kitchen, I am passionate about using Indian spices in different ways, I enjoy their aroma and texture which can be modified and used in any form according to our requirement and desire. When I joined the hotel industry, I observed that chefs are always busy making food, they are using all types of spices and vegetables to prepare food, but only few chefs know about the real use of spices and their usage.

I am always inspired to see my mother's food cuisine.The way she grinds whole spices on a grinding stone (Sil batta) I really liked, It is so amazing, especially their aroma which is spreading throughout the house. 

When we feel sick mother's always prepare to give some home remedies like Turmeric milk shake, Roasted ginger, Boiled eggs, Honey with Lemon ginger and so on, which always boost our energy level.

Friends, that's why I love to use all types of spices according to their needs in my food and always recommended my dear and near ones to use their wonderful spices as home remedies.

When I was unfortunately diagnosed with Covid Positive, my company immediately sent me back home and suggested that I be quarantined for 14 days. It was a very scary day for me. But my company has fully supported me from all angles like complementary quarantine leaves to food expenses.

During the period of home quarantine as usual my mother's recipes are the holistic treatment for me to overcome this dangerous pandemic disease Covid-19. She was giving me a two time milk shake with Turmeric (Haldi wala dudh) warm shake in Morning & Evening time and friends believe me with the price less treatment by my mother I recovered rapidly.

My friends, that's why I want to share some healthy tips which can help you to keep your body fit especially from Covid-19 type of dangerous disease because nothing is more important than your health.

So, let's learn some tricky treatment from home kitchen spices which is available 24x7 in your kitchen.



Turmeric / Haldi :

It is one of the main ingredients which is used in Indian and sub continental kitchens, whether you use it for cooking the food or health treatment. Even most people apply Turmeric paste on their face for glow. It is a really natural source for us.

Turmeric is a flower plant curcuma longa of the ginger family.

Turmeric benefits :- It is scientifically proven that turmeric has extensive benefits such as the potential to prevent heart disease, diabetes, liver disease, cancer etc.

Turmeric contains bio-active compounds with significant medicinal properties. It has potent anti- inflammatory, antioxidant to prevent a number of diseases.

So, as a chef, it is our keen responsibility to help the individuals for the best and healthy food.

It's a story of my work place, one day when I was on round in the lounges. I met a guest who was suffering from a cold and requested some type of meal which would give him relief from the cold. I immediately advised him for turmeric milk with boiled eggs as I had knowledge about the advantages of the same. Guest liked my offer and I placed hot Turmeric milk with boiled egg on him.

After some time, he was sweating profusely and got relief. So friends, that's why it is important for us to take advantage of our home remedies. It is just like a First Aid before reaching the doctor.

Small method of preparing turmeric milk 

Just boiled milk and add turmeric powder, filter with tea strainer if required and serve hot. 

Note: Sugar could be added if required.  


HOME MADE KADHAkadha increase your immunity especially to fight with viral fevers like cold cough and disease like Covid-19.

Ingredients :- 4-5 Clove (laung), 1 tsp crushed black pepper (kali mirch), 1 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak),  atleast 5-6 leaves of Tulsi ( Indian Basil), also you can replace Tulsi with Fresh mint if you are suffering from heavy cold.

Method of cooking -

Heat 2 cup of water according to above mentioned ingredients ratio and add clove,black pepper,ginger,basil or mint.



Heart-leaved moonseed ( Giloy) - Giloy plant has exceptional health benefits and in recent time it has proved that it really beneficial to fight with Covid virus disease. Even now it is available in guardian pharmacy.

Giloy miracle herb help to improves digestion, boosts immunity, reduces stress and many more benefits to drink giloy juice or giloy warm water.

Let's through light on how to make fresh giloy juice -

Take fresh few branches of giloy plant. Wash and peel or scrape off the outer skin until a fresh and green inner part comes to the surface.

Cut into small pieces and add them into the blender until looks nice paste.

Finally add water and now sieve this blend out in a glass. Your giloy juice is ready to serve.

For giloy warm water ( kadha)

We need just fresh branches of giloy plant, wash it and cut in pieces and boil with water for 15 to 20 minutes. After boil, you can directly strain and pour into the cup like a normal tea and your immunity booster in ready to serve.




Black Tea - Even very simple trick to boost your energy with Black Tea which is very popular to drink in all over the world and sub continental countries.

Friends, In my daily routine, I always prefer to take Black tea, when I start my daily journey at my work place, black tea rejuvenate my body, its help me to relax my mind and increase my energy level to set whole day strategy that how I can progress the work and achieve the daily target. But tea should be made in my own style which I want to share with my all lovely readers.

So, here is a secret of my style Black tea for you all.

Let's take, Assam leafy tea, cinnamon, green cardamom, honey and crushed fresh ginger.

Recipe:- Take sauce pan, boil water according to your requirement and add all above mentioned ingredients and boiled at least 5 minutes. 

                                    

Note: Sugar or honey should be less or according to your taste and I prefer to add very less tea leafs to make light (Golden) black tea with full of freshness or fragrance.


This is just an example from 1000 of home remedies which is beneficial for us in any difficult time especially when we are particularly fighting to pandemic virus Covid-19.

Coming to nutshell, if we make habit and believe our god gifted herbs and spices. I am 100 percent sure, it will definitely rejuvenate your body and mind.
